Zinfandel has been thought of as a California grape – however it has now been found to be identical to Primitivo which is grown in Italy. Already in the early 1900’s, this was considered the most important grape in California. Zinfandel is now grown also in e.g. South Africa, Australia and Chile.

The wine will continue to develop, and can be stored in the carboy or in the bottle for added depth of character. However, prolonged ageing is not required for these wines.
