Citras was developed by the Hop Breeding Company and has a heritage from five hop strains: US Tettnanger, Mittelfruh, East Kent Golding, Brewer’s Gold and one unknown strain. Launched in 2007 it’s popularity has exploded and despite it’s young age it is one of the most grown strains in the US today.
Arom: Citrus, passion fruit, tropical fruits, grapefruit and lime.
Origin: USA
Typical values: Alpha acids (correct alpha value is printed on the label): 13 – 15 %
Cohumulone: 22 – 24 %
Total oils: 1,5 – 3,0 ml / 100 g
Storage stability (alpha acids): Very Good, 75% alpha acids remaining after 6 months at 20 °C
